Notes: I just watched Loving Vincent on Hulu and I was inspired to make this set. The Text Overlay icon is the only known photograph of Vincent Van Gogh in existence. The men in the the Duo+Texture are both paintings of Armand Roulin, who is the main character of the movie. Diving into an exploration of Vincent Van Gogh's work was an astounding journey.
For those interested, here is a list of the original paintings I used for these icons. Links go to the online Van Gogh gallery:

Edge: Fishing Boats on the Beach at Saintes-Maries
Into Your Eyes: Gordina de Groot
Amiable: L'Arlesienne, Madame Ginoux
Turquoise: A Lane Near Arles
Emotion: Old Man in Sorrow (On the Threshold of Eternity)
Repeat: Poppies and Butterflies
Duo+Texture: Portrait of Armand Roulin and also Portrait of Armand Roulin

The story is delightful - one of my favorite tropes: pretend relationship due to amnesia!

Out of your comfort zone: Negative space, leaving room for: text - I tried different ways of making text interesting. Usually I just leave it off. To demonstrate how bad I am at adding text normally, here's the first draft of the Bear Queen icon:
