Angel at the End of Time

Fic by [livejournal.com profile] natt Angel at the End of Time An amazing story of war and love.

Original prompt: Gabriel guarding Ygdrassil with Hugin and Munin in the branches. I wasn't sure what kind of story I wanted, but I was thinking about something to do with Loki and the other family that Gabriel had when he was the Trickster. Supernatural continues to disappoint me with its treatment of the various pagan pantheons. [livejournal.com profile] natt took my original idea and ran with it!

Title art with Gabriel's sword - after watching the behind the scenes stuff from Richard Taylor on LOTR numerous times, I knew that I wanted to give Gabriel a two-handed broad sword, similar in size and heft to Aragorn's original blade. Gabriel's feast day was once March 24, just at the start of spring, so he has a flower motif on his sword. I did the line art in Illustrator to get everything straight and even, and then colored it in Photoshop.

Gabriel's resurrection - this scene gave me chills (click for full size)

Dean and Castiel fuck the world back into balance with volcanoes (I'm not totally satisfied with their faces, but men=rocks).

I meant to do a bunch of other stuff with this and even had started Fenris, but time got away from me.

Your prompt piece definitely caught my eye when I first saw it, because it was so unique and wonderful; did you make that in Illustrator? I love the layers and depth you created with the shapes and the colours, very cool. I also like the banner and it's so nice to have a little bit of an explanation how art was made (including inspirational references:) The additional artwork is great too, even though those pieces have a different style. That final drawing is quite clever (men=rocks!)
Very good stuff!

I love the last one. The way you made their bodies look like a land mass- very cool! Also I love the colours in the first one and the design of it.
